Regional Competition

Great Lakes Harmony Region 17 is comprised of 22 choruses that include 800+ singers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York, and Indiana. Each spring, Region 17 hosts the annual Regional Competition in Cleveland, Ohio. Winner​s qualify to compete at the Sweet Adelines International Convention in the fall of the following year. Choruses are judged on 4 categories: sound, music, expression & visual communication.

On May 11, 2024 under the direction of Marilynn Schroeter, GCC  won Region 17 contest Division AA scoring 612 points. This win also gave us 2nd place overall . Marilynn also was awarded the Novice Director award.

 

SAI International Competition

There are 24 international regions that includes the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, and New Zealand. A total of 18 of these regions span the United States. Following Regional Competition, the highest scoring chorus from each region is eligible to compete at the international level. There are two rounds of competition, the semi-finals and finals. Choruses scoring in the top 10 of the semi-finals advance to the finals. 

 

In 2023, GCC placed 3rd in the Harmony Classic, competing with choruses worldwide!
